Excelente opción
Pretty cool experience while away on vacation. I practice at a hot studio (formerly a Bikram studio) at home, so I’m familiar with the movements.Even though I’m not new to the class, I was new to this studio and I would have appreciated a quick chat with the instructor beforehand to help get set up for the class. Or a check in after to see how I did.I also didn’t see a water cooler, and that would have been SO helpful for refilling my bottle after a very hot session.
This is a beautiful studio with supportive, expert teachers and a vibrant welcoming community of practitioners. The space is lovely, all facilities impeccably clean and maintained, in a great neighbourhood if you'd like a coffee or meal or a manicure after your practice! I appreciated the flexible packages as a traveller. It was a pleasure to get back to the classic 26+2. Muchos gracias Karla y Illiana!
This is a nicely laid-out studio and evenly-heated space with welcoming staff and attentive and experienced teachers. To top it off, there are luxurious showers! Gracias for being here and for helping me grow my practice while exploring Mérida.
This practice has really helped me open up my body with the warmth of the yoga room. The teachers are welcoming & try to speak in English when I need correction, which is kind and above and beyond.I became a yoga teacher because I have a chronic nerve issue. Yoga has helped the chronic pain and gives me help with oxygenating my blood. With this nerve issue, when I stretch my heart rate sometimes elevates as I’m bringing oxygen to my stiffness and I need to take a break. I am not flexible so poses that require me to lock my knee are dangerous for me such as.. Dandayamana-Dhanurasana, Tuladandasana, and Dandayamana-Bibhaktapada-Janushirasana to name a few.The reason I gave this place a 3 is because I will not be coming back. I told the teachers I had a nerve issue as well as a flexibility issue in my hips.. I’ve torn both acls so postures such as Supta-Vajrasana are incredibly bad for my knees. I never had MODIFICATIONS. So many people as I’m watching in the mirror are not doing postures properly. I have a micro tear in my quad because of the constant,”lock your knee.” I really wanted to but I should have listened to myself when my body told me no instead of listening to the teacher.Today I had to sit out of one asana because my heart rate was getting high. I’ve seen many people sit down in the near 25 classes I’ve attended here. The teacher said to me, I quote, “try the posture out of respect for the others in class.” That was it. I was done. My whole life I am thinking about other people. I counsel people, take on their pain and grief. I have chronic pain myself and I NEED this heated practice to think about ME ONLY. For a teacher to tell me to think about others when I do that my whole day.. is absolutely unacceptable. This practice is for YOURSELF. I will never feel comfortable going back to the studio and I will always think that I need to be thinking about everyone else in the class instead of myself. I am very sensitive and that will stick with me and affect my future practices. If there was modification I would highly suggest this place but because there is not I would be weary of over-stretching and tearing that comes with the postures if you’re a beginner or suffer from a very stiff body like myself. I will buy a heater and practice on my own from now on. Very sad because I looked forward to my day everyday just because of the relief the breathing and warmth would give me in my body every morning.
